All You Need to Know About ADUs--Guest Houses

The governor of California enacted new laws that allow the construction of ADUs (accessory dwelling units) on almost every residential property. In the past, if a parcel of real estate was zoned R-1, meaning 1 dwelling unit for that parcel, a homeowner was, in many cases, prohibited from converting their garage or adding a small “guest house” that included a full kitchen and bathroom.

That is no longer the case with many residential properties in California.  For those people who wish to age in place at home, it is important to know about these changes. Come
learn the latest about what you (and your neighbors) are now allowed to do. In light of the pandemic, this alternative will be even more attractive as we stay in our houses more than ever.
